ชาวอเมริกันเชื้อสายจีน

ชาวอเมริกันเชื้อสายจีน (จีน: 華裔美國人 หรือ 美籍華人; จีน: 华裔美国人 หรือ 美籍华人) หมายถึงชาวอเมริกันที่มีเชื้อสายจีน ประกอบด้วยชาวจีนโพ้นทะเล กับบางส่วนที่เป็นชาวอเมริกันเชื้อสายเอเชียตะวันออก รวมทั้งชาวอเมริกันเชื้อสายเอเชียกลุ่มย่อย ซึ่งภายในชุมชนนี้ มักไม่ได้กำหนดว่าจะย้ายถิ่นฐานมาจากจีนแผ่นดินใหญ่, ฮ่องกง, มาเก๊า, ไต้หวัน กับลูกหลานของพวกเขาที่มิได้ย้ายถิ่นฐานในภายหลัง รวมทั้งชาวจีนโพ้นทะเลที่โยกย้ายมาจากสถานที่อันหลากหลาย ทั้งสิงค์โปร์, เวียดนาม, มาเลเซีย, อินโดนีเซีย, พม่า และฟิลิปปินส์

ชาวจีนกลุ่มแรกที่อพยพได้เดินทางถึงสหรัฐอเมริกาในช่วงปี ค.ศ. 1820 ตามที่บันทึกไว้ในสำมะโนทะเบียน ต่อมาในปี ค.ศ. 1848 ผู้ชายที่มีจำนวนน้อยกว่า 1,000 คน ต่างเดินทางมาเป็นแรงงานชุดสำคัญในช่วงยุคตื่นทองที่แคลิฟอร์เนีย เพื่อขุดทองและเป็นแรงงานดำเนินการเหมืองแร่
