จิตใต้สำนึก

ในวิชาจิตวิทยา จิตใต้สำนึก หมายถึง ส่วนของจิตที่ไม่อยู่ในการตระหนักรู้แบบเพ่งในขณะนั้น

ซิกมุนด์ ฟรอยด์ นักจิตวิทยาสำนักจิตวิเคราะห์ ใช้คำนี้ในปี 1893 เพื่ออธิบายความเชื่อมโยงและแรงขับที่เข้าไม่ถึงการรับรู้ (หรือจิตสำนึก) ต่อมาเขาเลิกใช้คำนี้แล้วเปลี่ยนไปใช้คำว่า จิตไร้สำนึกแทน
