รวันดา (อังกฤษ ฝรั่งเศส และสวาฮีลี: Rwanda; คินยาเรอวานดา: u Rwanda, [u.ɾɡwaː.nda]) หรือชื่อทางการคือ สาธารณรัฐรวันดา (อังกฤษ: Republic of Rwanda;[8]ฝรั่งเศส: République du Rwanda; สวาฮีลี: Jamhuri ya Rwanda; คินยาเรอวานดา: Republika y'u Rwanda) เป็นประเทศที่ไม่มีทางออกสู่ทะเลแต่อยู่ติดกับทะเลสาบเกรตเลกส์ (Great Lakes) ทางตะวันออกของประเทศ รวันดาเป็นประเทศเล็ก ๆ ที่อยู่ทางระหว่างตอนกลางและตะวันออกของทวีปแอฟริกา

รวันดามีอาณาเขตติดต่อกับยูกันดาทางตอนเหนือ บุรุนดีทางตอนใต้ สาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยคองโกทางตะวันตกเฉียงเหนือมาจนถึงตะวันตก และแทนซาเนียที่อยู่ทางตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ไล่ขึ้นมาถึงทางตะวันออก รวันดามีลักษณะทางภูมิประเทศที่เป็นเนินเขาที่อุดมสมบูรณ์ ทำให้ได้สมญานามจากเบลเยียม เจ้าอาณานิคมเก่าว่าเป็น ดินแดนแห่งเขาพันลูก (Pays des Mille Collines เป็นภาษาฝรั่งเศส หรือ Igihugu cy'Imisozi Igihumbi เป็นภาษาคินยาเรอวานดา) รวันดายังถือเป็นประเทศที่มีประชากรหนาแน่นที่สุดในแอฟริกาส่วนภูมิภาค (ไม่นับเกาะเล็ก ๆ) เหตุการณ์ที่โด่งดังที่สุดของประเทศรวันดาในระดับสากลคือเหตุการณ์ฆ่าล้างเผ่าพันธุ์ชาวทุตซีใน พ.ศ. 2537 (1994) ซึ่งส่งผลให้ประชากรเกือบล้านคนต้องเสียชีวิตไป[ต้องการอ้างอิง]
